In an electrifying display of skill and determination, the SM Boxing Foundation in collaboration with the Ghana Boxing Federation, orchestrated a spectacular Youth and Elite Boxing Tournament on January 27th and 28th, 2024. The event, held at the prestigious Modak Hotel, and Bukom Football Field in Accra, saw the participation of around 100 talented young and elite boxers from across the country.

The tournament aimed not only to showcase the prowess of Ghana’s rising boxing stars but also to identify the most promising talents to represent the nation on the international stage. With the stakes high, the boxers left no stone unturned in their quest for victory, displaying an impressive array of skills and tenacity in the ring.

The two-day event featured intense matchups across various weight categories, captivating the audience with thrilling bouts and remarkable sportsmanship. The boxers demonstrated their dedication to the sport and their aspirations for a chance to compete at the highest level.

The SM Boxing Foundation and Ghana Boxing Federation, in collaboration with experienced judges and referees, meticulously evaluated each match to select the standout performers. The winners, who exhibited exceptional skill, strategic prowess, and determination, will now have the opportunity to join a specialized training camp. This camp will serve as preparation for an upcoming international boxing tournament, where they will represent Ghana and compete against some of the best boxers from around the world.

Notable personalities from the boxing community and sports enthusiasts were in attendance to witness the event, including representatives from the Ghana Boxing Federation and other stakeholders in Ghana’s sporting landscape. Their presence added to the excitement and encouraged the boxers to give their best in the ring.

In an interview, Solomon Otoo, second-vice President of the Ghana Boxing Federation, expressed satisfaction with the high level of competition and praised the participants for their dedication and sportsmanship. He emphasized the importance of such tournaments in nurturing and promoting boxing talent in the country.

The selected winners are now eagerly anticipating the upcoming international tournament, where they will have the chance to make their mark on the global stage. As Ghana continues to strive for excellence in boxing, events like these serve as crucial platforms for identifying and developing the nation’s future boxing champions.
