Second Lady of the Republic, Hajia Samira Bawumia has called on the Chiefs and people of the northern region to support the agenda of development of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to bring prosperity to the nation. Ahead of the December general election, Hajia Samira urged the traditional leaders to support the good policies and initiatives of the President.
Hajia Samira assured the people that the vehicle of development spearheaded by the Akufo-Addo administration would leave no one behind. In an address at a rally in the Tamale North Constituency, Tuesday 10 November, she emphasised that the unprecedented development going on in the region is aimed at bringing happiness to the people.
She said the people should give President Nana Akufo-Addo a resounding victory on 7 December and also vote the Tamale North Parliamentary Candidate of the NPP, Hon Alhassan Dahamani as the next Member of Parliament.
She touted the one village one dam initiative, free senior high school policy, one constituency one ambulance, the nursing and teacher trainee allowances and all the developmental projects happening across the northern region and asked the people to vote four more years to enjoy more of these policy interventions.
“And between now to December 7 we need to talk to people so that those who are ready to vote we need to work hard, convince everybody else. Let them know that our future depends on it; our children’s future depends on because the policies of the New Patriotic Party is about developing this country and developing the future of this country. The programs and policies are about developing the future of this country and that is the only way we will all prosper” she said.
The Second Lady also charged the people demand accountability from the opposition National Democratic Congress for their stewardship in the 8 years they governed the country.
“The NDC is coming back to asked us for their votes, let us ask them the 8 years we gave them what did they do for the people of this country, what did they do for the people of Tamale? So we know if they had good plans for the people of Tamale they would’ve done in their last 8 years”
However, Hajia reiterated that the only political party that love the good people of Tamale and have good plans for them is the governing NPP.
The Second Lady later also visited the Tamale South and Sagnarigu constituencies on day one of her tour in the northern region here she addressed supporters of the New Patriotic Party in these areas.
