The Member of Parliament for the Karaga constituency in the Northern Region, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has commissioned a 1-story 12-unit classroom block for his Alma mater, the Northern School of Business Senior High School in the Tamale.
This is the fourth school in the region to receive infrastructure boost from the former Minister for Finance after similarly interventions at the Tamale Senior High School, Ambariyya Islamic Institute and Markaziyya Islamic School.
Infrastructure remains a major bottleneck undermining quality teaching and learning in most public schools across the country and the benevolence of the lawmaker seeks to improve the situation.
In his remarks during the commissioning and handing over ceremony last Friday, May 8, 2026, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam urged students and the younger generation to leverage on technology to achieve academic excellence.
He observed the commitment of students towards their studies and academic work has drastically reduced in spite of the overwhelming digital technology available for them.

Dr. Amin mentioned that since the human race was established, research has shown that every generation that came was better than the previous generation in terms of knowledge and skills.
”I will tell you something interesting. Research has shown that [and this is a well documented research], since the world was created and the human race was established, every generation that comes was better in terms of knowledge, in terms of intelligence and performance than the generation before it.
”And all the children that are born in the generation turn to know better than their fathers. However, it is only this current generation where the fathers know better than their children” he said.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmaker said young people must change their attitude towards digital tools, stressing the need to use technology in ways that enhance learning and contribute meaningfully to their future success.
”We have the technology they didn’t have but we don’t use that technology positively. We use it for games, entertainment, pornographying, movies, musicals; these are important but there’s time for everything.
”As you enjoy those things ensure that your academic does not suffer. You do not sacrifice your academic work for pleasures” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Headmaster of the Northern School of Business, Mr. Alhassan Issah Dokurugu, in his address described the MP’s intervention as timely.
He noted that the facility has come at a time the school confronted with inadequate infrastructure.
Therefore, Mr. Dokurugu indicated it will mitigate the gap to enhance effective teaching and learning.
”The current infrastructure is far below capacity needs, with nearly 4,900 students but only 36 classrooms available out of the required 75″ he disclosed.
