The King of the Dagbon Traditional Kingdom, His Majesty Ya Naa Abukari II has applauded the government for initiating steps to address the prevailing economic meltdown.
“In the past year, I recognized the numerous challenges our people faced, including hikes in prices of essential goods and services and also the high cost of living in the entire country, including the Dagbon State.
“The economic situation in 2022 was tough, exacerbated by both internal and external factors” he stated.
However, the President of the Dagbon Traditional Council in his New Year message sighted by THE CUSTODIAN said the Akufo-Addo government has done well in it’s attempts to proffer solutions to address the numerous economic challenges Ghanaians are facing.
He seized the medium to encourage the youth especially in the northern region to embrace agriculture particularly crop farming and livestock rearing.
“In my maiden address to the Dagbon Traditional Council in 2019, I laid a vision for the Dagbon State which emphasizes the prioritization of agriculture. Let me re-echo my appeal to all citizens to take both crops and livestock farming as a serious venture.”
The Ya Naa believes the agricultural sector is vital in the transformation agenda of the country and reiterated the need for the youth to embrace farming.
