THE CUSTODIAN gathered a total number of 23 people filed nominations to contest the various ten portfolios but eleven people out of the number withdrawn from the race on the eve of the elections including the the incumbent Chairman, Abubakari Sadique.

The delegates however elected Alhaji Baba Gazali with 705 votes though he stood unopposed with the withdrawal of his contender. The other elected officers are: Baba Gambari Danjumah, Vice Chairman, Fuseini Alhassan Wumbei, Second Vice Chairman and Abdul Karim Nashiru also elected as the Secretary.

The others were; Sumani Ayuba Alhassan, Assistant Secretary, Mohammed Sham, Youth Organizer, Adam B. Fuseini, Organizer, Women Organizer, Asana Abudu, Treasurer, Sualisu Ibrahim and Mumuni M. Shahaban as the Nasara Coordinator.

The Yendi Municipal Chief, Alhaji Ahmed Abubakari Yussif sworn the executives elect into office by administering the oath of office and oath of allegiance.

The Chairman, Alhaji Baba Gazali in his victory speech thanked members of the party for reposing such confidence in him to lead the NPP.

He also thanked the Yendi Member of Parliament, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, whom he described as a longtime friend and brother for his immense support as well as his immediate family.

He promised the rank and file of the New Patriotic Party to operate an open door administration during his tenure.

“At this juncture, I would like to call on all newly elected executives and those who couldn’t make it to put their hands on desk for us to work hard in the interest of the party to break the 8. Let me also use this medium to call on our predecessors the outgoing executives most especially our outgoing Chairman – Abubakari Sadique (Chairman Nam) to put their shoulders on the wheels for us to break the 8. My doors will be constantly open for you. As the saying goes – United we stand, divided we fall” he said.

The Member of Parliament, Hon Farouk Aliu Mahama, congratulated the elected executives and urged them to work hard in order for the NPP to win the 2024 elections with more than 30,000 votes.

He implored the party to remain united as it would be the only opportunity to propel the fortunes of the Dankwa/Dombo/Busia tradition of the constituency.

The NPP National Nasara Coordinator, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Futah, who supervised the elections, for his part stated he was satisfied that the process was successful and peacefully done.

He noted the elections committee ensured a free, fair and transparent process and every aspirant was dully vetted and given the opportunity to participate in the elections.

He stated the governing party is poised to break the 8 in 2024 as in his view; it is the only guaranteed time that Ghanaians will enjoy a sustainable growth and development in the country.

He added the nation will be taken aback in the event the opposition National Democratic Congress comes to power.
