Director of communications of the New Patriotic Party in the northern region Mr. Sule Salifu has distributed 200 personal protection items to members of the Regional Communications Directorate as part of measures to safeguard the communicators.

The items, which included face masks and hand sanitizers were presented to the gallant communicators on behalf of the Communications Director by his Personal Assistant, Mr. Amadu Hamdawei on Wednesday.

The donation, he explained, is part of measures adopted by the Communications Director and the party’s leadership in the region to protect the communications team.

He said the New Patriotic Party recognized that wearing of the face masks as announced by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) is an important tool in controlling the community infections of the coronavirus in Ghana, advising the general public to wear it.

Mr. Hamdawei underlined the importance of the communications team, stating as mouthpiece of the party, they propagate the NPP government’s numerous pro-poor policy interventions and programmes being implemented by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo daily.

Therefore, he urged the recipients to adhere to the guidelines by using the sanitizers and face masks given to them anytime they are undertaking any official duties of the party.

He assured that the party will support government to enforce the requisite safety measures to protect the nation.

However, he noted the party cannot be oblivious about the safety of the officers as they discharge their responsibilities on behalf of the New Patriotic Party.

He further advised the communication team to complement the efforts of government by educating the general public on the preventive practices of the coronavirus pandemic.
