The 38 year old embattled female suspect whose arrest sparked chaos at Changli in the Tamale metropolis over the weekend has been granted bail to a surety of GHS3, 000.
The accused Sahadatu Mohammed Iddrisu appeared at the Tamale magistrate court 2 today Tuesday where the Presiding Judge, His Worship Yussif Amadu granted the bail and adjourned the case to May 5.
The Police Criminal Investigation Department in Tamale charged the suspect with two counts of assault of a public officer and resisting arrest.
According to the Regional Crime Officer, Superintendent Kwabena Otuo Acheampong, the suspect allegedly instigated an attack on three police officers at Changli last Thursday, April 16, 2020, when the officers went into the community to arrest her.
Consequently, armed personnel of police service in a Rambo-style raided the community amidst gunshots and allegedly vandalized properties and physical assaulted the inhabitants.
The Northern Region Reporter of TV Africa sustained injury as a result of the gunshots allegedly fired from the direction of the armed officers.
However, 134 individuals were arrested at the dawn and investigations underway to smoke out the perpetrators who attacked the police personnel.
Several members of the community also sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of the brutalities and properties including electronic gadgets and vehicles damaged in the process.
