The Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Hon Kennedy Agyapong, has come to the assistance of 4-year old Abdul Mumin Iddrisu and his family in the Tamale metropolis.
The little boy according to the family was diagnosed of tuberculosis at the Tamale Teaching Hospital and for over a year now has been on medical treatment.
But the family says all their resources has expended in the medical bills but there is still no improvement in the treatment process.
However, the lawmaker found the need to support the disgruntled family when his attention was brought to the child’s depleting condition.
He therefore donated a cash amount of five thousand Cedis (GHS5,000) over the weekend to the family to further his treatment.
Clouded with devastation and sadness, father of the boy, Mohammed Iddrisu narrated, “My child has been sick for quite a longtime now and we treated him to the point I had nothing again on me. I run to Alhaji for help and he assured me he would speak to his godfather who is Kennedy Agyapong and today he has brought us money to find solution to the child’s condition.”
“I want to thank Hon Kennedy Agyapong so much for the support; he is really the man for the people. Honestly, I am so overwhelmed that I don’t know how to thank him – this really shows that he cares for the vulnerable of Ghana. I also want to appeal to other people to help us so that we can take care of the boy” he said.
He stated the family will return Abdul Mumin to the hospital to continue his medical care and further examinations on him.
On behalf of the Chairman of Parliament’s Defense and Interior Committee, Alhaji Baba Gushegu presented the cash donation to the family and stated the desire of the NPP stalwart to present to meet the family.
However, other schedules have taken him out of the jurisdiction.
“…Like I always I say that he is the grassroots’ friend, when I told him about it he didn’t hesitate, he just decided to actually bring forth his donation and that is why we’re here” he asserted.
