Mr Haruna Mohammed - Deputy National General Secretary of the NPP

The Tamale Central Constituency Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party has congratulated the newly appointed Deputy General Secretary of the party, Mr. Haruna Mohammed on his appointment to serve in the national office.

The 40-year old has served as the a Deputy National Communications Director of the NPP in the last four years and the Information and Technology (IT) Coordinator for the past elections in the northern region before his recent appointment.

Prof Haruna Mohammed as he is affectionately known in his political and social life is the current Northern Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).

The Tamale Central Constituency Secretary, Mr. Ahmed Faisal, in a statement copied to THE CUSTODIAN said, “I humble have a firm conviction that, you possessed all the arsenals, requisite skills and qualification to be able to deliver as our next Deputy General Secretary of the party.”

He maintained Mr. Haruna’s appointment as a Deputy General Secretary would add value and quality to the administration of the NPP.  

“Your hard work, commitment and tenacity towards the party at the constituency level and the regional level has added volume to your appointment at the national level, therefore, the Tamale Central Constituency Executives, the electoral area coordinators, the polling station executives and the entire party supporters within the constituency are proud of you as an individual and your entire family for this great achievement” Mr. Faisal stated.

The Tamale Central Executive has commended the National Executive Committee of the party for the honor and the Northern Regional Executive Committee for this achievement.

“As the constituency, we urge you to continue to work hard for more glory and exhibit a higher sense of maturity and dedication to your new office” he assured.

Background

The NPP Deputy General Secretary obtained his two Masters Certificates (MSc) in Project Management and Commonwealth Executive Masters in Business Administration at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana.

He did Supply Chain Management from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and SME Development from Japan International Cooperation.

Mr. Haruna Mohammed is also an alumnus of then Tamale Polytechnic where he studied HND in Accounting before he furthered his education at the University of Cape Cost for his Bachelors of Commerce programme.  

He hails from the Zabzugu district of the northern region but was born at Atebubu in the Bono East Region where his family settled.
