The Chiefs of Asanteman have reposed their trust and confidence in the work of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to the Paramount Chief of Asante Mampong, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, the yeoman’s job and undertakings of Dr Bawumia as Chairman of the Economic Management Team is admirable.
At a durbar of Chiefs in Kumasi, the Mamponghene in his remarks said, “Just a few comments I would like to make is, Dr the kind of job, the yeoman’s job you’re doing and undertaking for and on behalf of the Head of State, is no joke, it’s no mean task at all; and I can confirm to you over here, not just because you’re sitting about a yard from me I am exaggerating, Nananom in Ashanti Region; I am specifically using the name Ashanti Region, those of us in the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs, we do appreciate and admire you.”
He added anytime they [Chiefs] see the Vice President on TV, immediately, what comes to mind is, “here he comes, the Chief exponent and proponent of governmental economic policies and principles.”
“And the main reason why we [Nananom] in the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs do really admire and appreciate him is [incidentally] just for the record, when one delves through the composition of membership of Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs, I can boast with my chest out that any profession within the Western World, name it, we have a member who is qualified over there.
“Chartered accountants, medical doctors, no mean – Lawyers and Solicitors – I am here over 35 years standing, we’re all composite members of Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs. So when you get this kind of caliber of body to appreciate and admire the yeoman’s job that he’s doing – he is everywhere giving series of keynote addresses to international workshops and seminars within mother Ghana here, we do appreciate him.”
Daasebre Osei Bonsu II emphasized Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is not one those from the world of academia who just preach theories, but the Vice President in his view also touches on greater policies and then go to the extend in analyzing indeptly, break it down to the minutest structures for everybody to understand and appreciate it.
He further encouraged the Vice President to keep up the good work to bring prosperity to the people of Ghana.
Meanwhile, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, continuous to enjoy massive support from the Chiefs and people of the Ashanti Region as well as leading members of the governing New Patriotic Party in the region.
