A Broadcast Journalist with Tamale based Dagbon Radio has allegedly been attacked by a former Deputy Northern Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, Iddrisu Hardi Pagazaa, who presently is a campaign coordinator for the Member of Parliament of Sagnarigu, A.B.A Fuseini.
The incident coincided with the celebration of this year’s International Press Freedom Day on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. A video which has since gone viral captured the outspoken communicator and one other body-built person physically abusing the presenter on live radio.
Hardi Pagazaa in the short video clip is heard asking the presenter in the local dialect, “What have I done to you? What can I do to you?”
The other person also threatened to kill him (Sadiq) if he continues talking about the NDC stalwart on his program. “If you dare this man, you will die. Don’t ever dare to mention his name anyday” he stated.
Meanwhile, Sadiq Abubakari Gariba said the campaign coordinator on a campaign was engaged in chieftaincy politics with the infamous Abudu/Andani chieftaincy crisis which he condemned on his talk show.
“Then he went on a different radio station and granted an interview on which he mentioned my name and said I should be the last person to teach him communication – that my communication can only be compared to his daughter but not himself.
“So, I brought that on my show yesterday and played the tape and said I would’ve discussed him but anybody who makes false statements is not worth being discussed on my show and that was it and we ended the topic there” he narrated.
Meanwhile, many people have since condemned the act and demand an unqualified apology from the NDC regional communication team member. Hardi Pagazaa is alleged to have gain notoriety for such chieftaincy politicking in the northern region.
