The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has advised the general public against dealing with one Innocent Paintsil, an impersonator defrauding people in pretense of working for the party.

“Our attention has been drawn to fraudulent activities being carried out by one Innocent Paintsil, an impersonator who defrauds people by pretending to work at the NPP headquarters.”

According to the party, the fraudster uses the phone number 0531809798 and presents himself as a staff who has been tasked to register party members in need of financial assistance and goes ahead to take various sums of money from these unsuspecting members as registration fees.

The officer National Treasurer in a statement on Thursday, July 13, has further cautioned the public against dealing with him or any such persons or group of persons claiming to be conducting any form of registration for the disbursement of funds to members.

“Whiles this individual has been reported to the appropriate authorities for the necessary actions to be taken, we implore the general public not to be misled by this fraudulent scheme and to avoid communicating in any manner with him or any such persons or group of persons claiming to be conducting any form of registration for the disbursement of funds to members” the statement added.
