A double tongue position is to run away from one’s own earlier statement in order to escape blame and to win favour from the people .

A double tongue posture or position in arguably undeniably a hypocrite stance.
The issue of betting tax raises genuine concerns.

Betting itself serves as a source of revenue to our teeming participants in the betting.
One cannot rule out the fact that taxation is a major source of revenue for development.
The introduction of betting tax has raised genuine concerns.

The NDC has already launched vitriolic attacks on the NPP government.

The NDC claims that the betting tax is both disincentive and demotivating.
The NPP accused the NDC of introducing nuisance taxes.

The NPP promised to remove the nuisance taxes.
True to it, the NPP has removed them.

The NDC now incites and instigates the youth to demonstrate against the betting tax.
Another issue that the NDC position raises is that the NDC has not made any categorical statement on the betting tax save admitting its condemnation.

Risibly, the NDC director of communication, Sammy Gyamfi has earlier posited that the NDC would introduce betting tax if the NDC emerges victorious in the 2024 elections.
Sammy Gyamfi further posited that the NDC would employ the various sports presenters as the main agents for the collection of betting tax.

What does it amount to?

Outright double tongue!

Interestingly, the minority leader, CASIEL Ato Forson had earlier insisted that betting in Ghana should be banned in Ghana.

Banning sports betting and introduction of betting tax, which one makes economic sense?
Sammy Gyamfi and CASIEL Ato stance do not amount to double tongue but also nocturnal enuresis -a medical parlance, bed wetting.
