In a typically belligerent fashion, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, has issued a strong warning to the Central Regional executives, particularly Chairman Robert Kutin, threatening a showdown if Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia emerges victorious in the governing party’s November 4, 2023 presidential primary in the region.
“If Bawumia wins in Central Region, you’ll see what will happen in 2024. I dare them. I am daring Chairman Kutin and the Regional Executives that if they are men, if they fool, what will happen in Central Region. They should try.
“What I will to do them in Central Region, and if they know what is coming, they better give Kennedy Agyapong 100% in Central Region. They should go out and tell the people to give Kennedy Agyapong a hundred percent.
“Central region, I will give them a showdown. I want to prove to Chairman Kutin that he’s nobody in Central Region.
“I am a man. I am not a coward and I have the money to play mischief and I am telling Chairman Kutin,” Kennedy Agyapong stated angrily during an interview with Accra-based Neat FM, threatening to cause the defeat of NPP in the 2024 general election if he loses.
Kennedy Agyapong’s threat appeared to stem from his perception that the regional executives owed him for past campaign efforts and some money spent on their election bid.
“I campaigned for them, and these regional executives are going to pay me. I’ll give them a showdown,” Mr. Agyapong asserted.
The Assin Central MP who has verbally attacked and assassinated the character of every NPP guru, ominously hinted at unspecified consequences if the regional executives failed to meet his expectations.
The Assin Central MP boldly vowed a political upheaval in the 2024 general election if he fails to win the NPP presidential primary.
In the Special Electoral College election to select five aspirants out of the 10 presidential hopefuls, Kennedy Agyapong polled 16 votes behind Vice President Bawumia’s 25 votes in the Central Region.
Reports filtering in from the region indicates that the maverick MP is likely to fall heavily in the November 4, 2023 presidential primary, hence his desperate resort to vile threats.
