The Northern Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has congratulated the newly appointed Minister of Finance, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam. President Nana Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, February 14, announced a major reshuffle of his government which saw several cabinet Ministers and deputy ministers exiting their portfolios to other ministries while others leaving the government.  

Prior to the announcement, the Member of Parliament for Karaga constituency in the northern region was the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry. He will therefore takeover from Ken Ofori Atta as the first northerner to head the ministry.

“As we wish you all the best in your new office, we pray that Almighty Allah will continually guide your path and lead you to success for the good of mother Ghana.”

The GJA Regional Chairman, Mr. Yakubu Abdul Majeed in a statement issued on Wednesday on behalf of the association expressed confidence in the lawmaker to turn around the fortunes of the country for the benefit for all.

“We are exceedingly confident that you will distinguish yourself in your new role and help turn around the fortunes of the country for the benefit of all” he stressed.

He said, “As GJA Executive Officers of your home region, we have no shred of doubt in your ability to deliver and you can count on our total support especially through availing our platforms for collaboration and advocacy to explain your ministry’s policies and programmes to the region in particular and the country as whole.”

Meanwhile, the GJA leadership have also congratulated the Member of Parliament for Mion constituency, Hon Musah Abdul Aziz Ayaba on his appointment as deputy Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development.
