Mr. Issahaque Abdul Latif, the deceased Northern Regional Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) was Tuesday morning, February 20, laid to rest at the Tamale Zujung public cemetery in line with Islamic dictates.

Hundreds of mourners including family members, his colleague NHIS workers across the region, friends from all walks of life gathered at the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue to pay their last respect and observe the Janaza (Islamic prayers) before the mortal remains was conveyed to the cemetery for internment.

The grief deepened among the love ones and sympathizers when the lifeless body of Mr. Abdul Latif cloth in white was being moved from the coffin to his final resting place.

The former Northern Regional Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) died Monday afternoon during a surgical process.

THE CUSTODIAN gathered the deceased was involved in an accident last Sunday, February 11, while taking his children to their Arabic school. He reportedly had multiple fractures on his leg, dislocation of the jaw among various degrees of injuries.

Multiple sources confirmed to THE CUSTODIAN that the NHIA Northern Regional Director was responding positively to treatment and unfortunately passed on in the process.
