At a rally in Kwahu Mpraeso, on 30th March 2024, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana, urged Ghanaians to reject John Mahama at the polls due to his single term limitation and hence, lack of responsibility.

Dr Bawumia warned that Mahama might not prioritize the needs of Ghanaians if elected, stating, “If you give asomasi (John Mahama) the mantle of leadership, he will leave the job and embark on a honeymoon.

“He knows he will not come back again after four years, hence, his decision to stay on a honeymoon. He will not care about you because of the four years he has.”

Additionally, Dr Bawumia assured voters of his commitment to seeking re-election in 2028 if elected, pledging, “As for me, if you elect me, I will come back for your votes in 2028.

“I will work harder to solve the myriad challenges of this country if you give me the chance.”
He criticized Mahama’s proposed policies, contrasting them with his own, stating, “Asomasi (Mahama) is bringing old solutions. He is bringing nothing new to the table. I am bringing bold solutions, not old solutions. He is bringing failed solutions.”

Dr Bawumia highlighted the importance of maintaining the Free Senior High School program, asking, “Didn’t asomasi (Mahama) say that if he had money, (GHC2 Billion), he would never pump it into Free SHS? If we bring him back, won’t he cancel Free SHS?”

He called for NPP members to engage in extensive grassroots campaigning to educate voters about the government’s policies and his vision for Ghana’s future.
