The Ghana Hajj Taskforce has confirmed a total number five thousand, eight hundred and sixteen (5816) Ghanaian pilgrims have been airlifted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform this Hajj.
The 14th flight which happens to be the final aircraft successfully landed in Madinah, Saudi Arabia Wednesday, May 28, on board the final badge of pilgrims bringing the number to 5816 from the country.
“The final flight carrying Ghanaian pilgrims has landed safely in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
“In total, 14 flights have successfully transported 5,816 pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj.
Grateful for a smooth and safe journey for all” the Hajj taskforce announced on Facebook.
Meanwhile, the Head of Corporate Affairs at the Hajj Taskforce, Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini, in a recent media interview confirmed the death of two Ghanaian pilgrims in Mecca.
Additionally, he disclosed that five individuals have been repatriated due to visa-related issues.
He however clarified that the affected pilgrims were not deported in the criminal sense of the term.
Dozens of people have criticized the Taskforce for poorly organizing the annual Islamic exercise, citing lack of information pertaining to the activities in line with the pilgrimage and poor conditions of the accommodation provided for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
