The Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu has said 8 Agenda 111 projects are at various levels of completion in the region.

He made this known when he addressed journalists during the State of the Region Report, a media engagement platform put together by the Ministry of Information for Regional Ministers to provide updates on developments in their regions on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

“Also, ongoing is the construction of the district hospitals dubbed Agenda 111. The region is benefiting from 8 of such projects which are at various stages of completion and when completed, would further accelerate health service delivery in the region,” he said.

Breaking down the projects, the Minister said the areas are Binduri, Bawku West, Bolga East, Nabdam, Bindiru, Garu, Kassena-Nankana, Builsa and the Tempane Districts.

Mr. Yakubu also disclosed that in addition to the 8 Agenda 111 projects, the Zebilla Infectious Disease Treatment Centre is being built in the region to improve medical diagnosis, research capacity of the region and help identify and combat infectious diseases. He said the facility is the first of its kind in the region and comes with a main treatment block, administrative block, a media Block and an accommodation block.

This he lauded government for the commitment in improving healthcare delivery in the region. He said government improvement in health infrastructure is unprecedented, the reason the Upper East Region is benefiting from numerous hospital projects.

These health facilities, he said after their completion would play a major role in health care delivery in the region hence, the need for the people of the Upper East Region to rally behind the government to bring development to the region.
