The outgoing Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr. Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanten, has served notice to address the nation on his Presidential ambition and future endeavors after tendering his resignation letter to President Nana Akufo-Addo last Thursday, January 5.
The President in a letter signed by the Director of Communications at the Jubilee House accepted the resignation and in turn assigned the Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori Atta to act in the meantime.
Barely 48hours after the resignation, Mr. Kyeremanten on his official Facebook page on Saturday, January 7, also thanked the President for the opportunity to serve the nation and graciously accepting his resignation.
“I would like to thank H.E the President for the opportunity to serve and for graciously accepting my resignation as Cabinet Minister responsible for Trade and Industry, effective 16th January, 2023.”
He added, “I sincerely appreciate the support from my family, colleagues, my party the NPP, the international community, and the general public during my tenure as a Minister”.
Meanwhile, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten failed in his last three attempts to lead the NPP having lost in the primaries to the incumbent Nana Akufo-Addo in 2007, 2011 and 2015.
He is fiercely going into the contest this time round with the Vice President among other stalwarts of the party and many political analyst believes his decision to leave government is to enable him prepare early enough ahead of time to succeed President Akufo-Addo.
