Accra’s latest addition to commercial radio, Asaase Radio 99.5, has gone fully operational with actual programming.

The station did a subtle live takeoff on Sunday June 14, marking the end of a successful test run, and the beginning of a new journey into the capital’s radio landscape.

Sunday’s official actual programming take off, saw renowned Journalist, Kwaku Sakyi Addo, host the maiden edition of his new show ‘Sunday Night’. Monday morning saw old guard Kojo Mensah take up hosting duties on the Asaase Breakfast Show. Other presenters expected during the day include Caroline Sampson (10:00 am to 1:00 pm) and Elvis Crystal (2:00 pm to 5:00 pm)

Executives at the Cantonments-based station remain hopeful that they have a good strategy in place.

The Asaase Radio project is huge; executives tell us it is founded on a unique Pan African philosophy with a unique Ghanaian identity.

Expectations are high for the station. In the coming weeks, as the full rollout takes shape, it will be a walk into a terrain of players with equally bigger appetite for market share.
