He emphasised that the victories and achievements of the NPP over the years were largely due to the unwavering commitment and sacrifices made by these individuals at the local level.
According to him, their loyalty and hard work form the bedrock upon which the party’s success is built.
Dr Bawumia, who also served as Ghana’s Vice President from January 7, 2017 to January 6, 2025 commended the party faithful during the NPP’s “Thank You” Tour in Takoradi on Saturday, 26 April.
The 2024 presidential candidate acknowledged the tireless efforts of the rank and file in sustaining the party’s strength across the country.
“Our polling station executives and grassroots are our greatest assets, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart,” he emphasised.
Dr Bawumia noted that without the support of the grassroots, no political party could achieve its objectives.
“It is the grassroots that defend the party in every community, market, and household,” he remarked.
Dr Bawumia urged the executives to remain steadfast as the NPP prepares for the crucial 2028 general election.
He promised continued engagement and support for the base of the party.
‘Let’s give glory to God in all things’

Dr. Bawumia called on party members to be grateful to the Almighty God, regardless of the outcome of the 2024 elections.
Accompanied by national party executives, including Chairman Stephen Ntim and General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, Dr. Bawumia started the tour in Takoradi, with a meeting with regional executives, of the party, as well as key stakeholders, including regional campaign team members.
Stressing the need to thank party faithful and Ghanaians, Dr. Bawumia first gave gratitude to God, and called on party members to believe in the will of God.
“Everything is determined by God. You may want one thing but God can say otherwise.
“So regardless of what happened in 2024, we have to give thanks to God. There is time for everything, so let us continue to stay together and believe in the will of God,” he urged.
Dr. Bawumia stressed on the need for the party to stay united, correct its mistakes and look forward to a brighter future in 2028.
“I have a lot of confidence that if we unite, we will make sure we win the 2028 election, because United we stand, divided we fall.”
General Secretary of the party, Justin Kodua Frimpong, spoke on the report submitted by the Mike Oquaye Committee, assuring that the party, together with all stakeholders, has begun the process of implementing recommendations provided.

‘We had solid achievements but not everything went right’
Dr. Bawumia reiterated that the NPP government had a solid record of achievements but that not everything went well.
“We had a solid record of achievements, but not everything went right,” he stated candidly.
Addressing a gathering of supporters, Dr Bawumia highlighted key successes, including advancements in digitalisation, infrastructure development, and economic reforms.
He expressed pride in the work the NPP had done to transform the lives of Ghanaians, noting that “the evidence of our progress can be seen in every sector of the economy.”
Dr Bawumia however pointed out that the realities of governance meant that some aspirations remained unmet, despite their best efforts.
“We are not perfect, and no government is,” Dr Bawumia told the crowd.
He emphasised that challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and global economic pressures had affected the pace of development.
Nevertheless, he reassured party faithful that the NPP’s commitment to service and innovation remained unwavering.
“We learned valuable lessons and are better prepared for the future,” he added
