Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, aspiring Ashanti Regional Chairman

The outgoing Afigya Kwabre South constituency chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah has expressed gratitude to his constituents.

Odeneho who has been constituency chairman for 20 years, posted his appreciation to the constituents on his social media platform, Facebook.

“l will be former constituency chairman soon. Nothing is permanent on this earth. I am grateful to the people of Afigya Kwabre South. You did show me love and team work”, he stressed.

At the close of NPP constituency elections nominations last week, Odeneho affectionately called COKA did not file to contest constituency position.

He has declared his intention to contest the Ashanti regional chairmanship position.

Odeneho is hoping to unseat chairman Wontumi whose popularity keep dwindling because of his divide and rule leadership style at the region.

COKA who heads the Ashanti region association of constituency chairmen associated himself with biblical proverb where the Lord Jesus Christ assured his people of going to prepare a place in heaven for them.

“l wept when some of my constituents called to wish me well for bringing my work at the constituency to an end. What l leave you is John 14: 1 to 3 which states; Do not let your heart be troubled.  Believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, l would have told you. For l go to prepare a place for you. If l go and prepare a place for you, l will come again and receive you to myself, that where l am, there you may be also. God is our only hope”.

Odeneho’s decision to contest the Party’s regional office position has been well embraced by party faithful.

“Odeneho Kwaku Appiah has been a backbone for this constituency. His absence will be greatly felt.

“We may not get his kind to lead the constituency. He is a father for all. We wish him well in his next endeavour “, some constituents said.

Another constituent remarked, “Chairman Odeneho is a pillar of hope, a unifier who brought everyone on board. He served us with dignity”.

Samuel Adjei also known as Wofa Sam, a known NPP leader and other women leaders who could not hide their emotions shared tears, saying they will miss Odeneho for his enormous contribution to people in the constituency and beyond.

COKA appealed to the good people of Afigya Kwabre South to keep supporting and pray for him to be successful in his quest to lead the regional office of the governing NPP.
