The Member of Parliament aspirant on the ticket of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Tamale Central constituency has donated hand washing facilities and personal protective items to Radio and Television Stations among other institutions in the Tamale metropolis to promote good hygiene in the wake of the pandemic outbreak.
This is to help contain the spread of the coronavirus disease in the northern region.
Dr Ibrahim Anyars Imoro who doubles as the Chief Executive Officer of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) distributed three thousand pieces of hand sanitizer, one thousand pieces of liquid soap and fifty veronica buckets to these institutions as well as vantage points within the Tamale Central Constituency to enhance the ability of people to frequently wash their hands.
The Constituency Chairman Mohammed Ibrahim together with other executives of the party distributed the items to senior staff of the radio and television stations on behalf of Dr Anyars Ibrahim at his private office on Wednesday 1 April, 2020.
In an interview with the media, the NPP constituency Secretary, Musah Mutawakilu Sankundaa said the donation is aimed to support the people to frequently perform hand washing and prevent the spread of COVID-19 among the people of Tamale Central.
According to him, the welfare and general development of the public rest on the shoulders of leaders in the constituency and argued the NPP 2020 parliamentary candidate has demonstrated to the people that he wouldn’t be an arm-chair leader if voted for as Member of Parliament in the forthcoming elections.
“And this is what Dr Barihama Anyars is demonstrating today, he is demonstrating to us that he will not be an arm-chair leader, he is going to be at the forefront with us fighting whatever is confronting the people at any given point in time” Mr. Mutawakilu maintained.
The Tamale Central and Tamale West hospitals among other health facilities in the northern regional capital are earmarked to receive two thousand hand gloves and nose masks and other personal protection equipment for frontline healthcare workers.
