The Minister of Energy, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has called for cool heads in the ongoing tussle between the Senior Staff of the Volta River Authority and the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (VRA/NEDCo) and the embattled Managing Director of the company, Mr. Osman Ayuba Aludiba.  

The Minister said the issues must be addressed dispassionately with a great deal of impartiality devoid of emotional sentiments.

The VRA/NEDCo staff last week declared a partial sit-down strike to press home their demands for the dismissal of the Managing Director after petitioning the Board of Directors to ensure Mr. Ayuba either voluntarily step down or be sacked.

The sector minister in a media interaction said, “Yesterday, I met with the Senior Staff Association of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company and the Volta River Authority over the current impasse between them and the Managing Director of NEDCo.”

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh after the meeting with all parties directed the disgruntled staff to put their concerns in writing so that the necessary interventions could be made for the way forward.  

He reiterated as the sector minister; he remains resolute to address all intra and inter-institutional brawls to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the production value-chain.
