A former Director of Finance and Administration at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Headquarters, Dr Charles Dwamena, has indicated that the implementation of policies that will empower the party’s grassroots is essential for victory 2024.
Dr Dwamena, also known as Dr China, who is also Ghana’s immediate past Deputy Ambassador to China, stated this when he addressed scores of delegates on the sidelines of the Western Regional Annual Delegates Conference at the University of Mines and Technology last week.
The former Diplomat reiterated the need for NPP to empower the grassroots through innovative and sustainable programmes such as a business incubation fund and a Human Resource Empowerment programme.
According to the aspiring NPP National Treasurer, the Business Incubation Fund and the Human Resources Empowerment Programme are policy proposals, which when properly implemented, would create avenues for party members to expand existing businesses or create new ones and also create scholarship opportunities for those who wish to pursue higher education.
Present at the conference were the Western Regional Minister, some National Executive Officers, Regional Executive Officers, Constituency Executive Officers, MMDCEs from the region and other Party Stalwarts.
Dr China was a two- term Branch Chairman of the NPP China Branch and a former Chairman of the Asia Pacific Caucus of the NPP, which is made up of the Australia, China, Japan and Korea Branches of the NPP.
He is highly tipped to be elected the next National Treasurer of the NPP at its 2022 National Executive elections given his excellent track record exhibited during his tenure as the Director of Finance and Administration at the party Headquarters.
