Martial, 26, joined Sevilla on loan from Manchester United in January.
The 30-cap Frenchman was frozen out at Old Trafford so headed to LaLiga to try and build some confidence – and maybe force his way back into the national team ahead of the World Cup.
But after an initial bright start, he has struggled to make much of an impact at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan so far playing up front or on the wing.
In nine appearances, Martial has managed just one goal, coming in the Europa League win over Dinamo Zagreb.
And he was even jeered, whistled and booed by his own supporters in a new low.
But manager Julen Lopetegui refused to condemn the behaviour – and called on Martial to keep doing his part for the remainder of the season.
The Sevilla boss told AS: “This is elite football and people are free and can express themselves as they feel.
“I have to help him to achieve his best version. He has to do his part and adapt to what we ask of him.”
The Spanish side, who were knocked out of Europe by West Ham, reportedly paid around £5million as a loan fee for the ex-Monaco star.
However, he looks set to be shipped back to Old Trafford in the summer.
The forward has 56 goals in 175 Red Devils appearances.
But he will need to impress the new manager as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.
