Members of Parliament on Wednesday, June 17, transformed the foyer of Parliament into a vibrant display of patriotism and national pride as they rallied behind Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, ahead of their crucial international friendly match against Panama scheduled for 23:00 hours.
The atmosphere was charged with excitement as lawmakers, dressed in the Black Stars’ traditional red, yellow, and green jerseys adorned with the iconic black star, gathered to show their unwavering support for the national team.
The MPs sang and danced to popular jama tunes, creating a festive scene that reflected the hopes and expectations of Ghanaians ahead of the highly anticipated encounter.
Beyond the music and dancing, several legislators took turns to offer words of encouragement to the players and technical team. They urged the Black Stars to approach the match with confidence, determination, and a strong sense of national duty.
According to the MPs, the team carries the aspirations of millions of Ghanaians and serves as a symbol of the country’s unity, resilience, and sporting excellence on the international stage.
