The Member of Parliament further commended the President for taking a bold step to uncap the National Health Insurance Levy to ensure the availability of funds for the development of the healthcare sector, arguing this would bring healthcare delivery service closer to the doorsteps of Ghanaians.

According to the lawmaker, the Mahama led administration is keen to invest so much in the health sector and that the Nanton district will also witness a massive improvement during the four years of the NDC government.
Dr Mohammed Sheriff Abdul Haliq further promised to work assiduously with the District Assembly to upgrade some of the healthcare facilities into clinic status to ensure the healthcare professionals are able to handle some critical health needs of the people.
He maintained that this intervention will reduce if not completely eliminate the burden of the constituents traveling several kilometers to other areas to seek medical care.
The Nanton District Director of Ghana Health Service, Dr Sheba Kunfah, for her part welcomed the donation and commended the MP for such laudable intervention.
In her remarks, she lamented the inadequate means of transportation for outreach activities in the district. She disclosed that the district presently has about seven functional motorcycles aiding in the movement of the healthcare personnel which she was quick to state is inadequate.
She therefore called on the Legislator and other developmental partners to support the district in that regard.
