The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled Saturday, September 19, 2026, for its National Delegates Conference, where new national officers of the party will be elected.
The date was approved by the party’s National Council following a decision by the National Executive Committee (NEC) at a separate meeting held on June 25, 2026.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, July 8, and signed by the General Secretary, the NPP said the conference will be conducted in line with Article 10(1) of the party’s Constitution.
As part of preparations towards the conference, the party has opened a process for members and stakeholders to submit proposals for amendments to its constitutional provisions.
The General Secretary, acting under Article 19(2) of the NPP Constitution, invited interested parties to present recommendations aimed at improving the party’s governing framework.
The proposals are to be submitted to the Office of the General Secretary at the party’s national headquarters or through the designated electronic mail platform. The deadline for submissions is Friday, July 17, 2026.
The NPP said the constitutional review exercise is intended to strengthen party structures, improve internal democratic practices and promote more effective governance.
It encouraged members, supporters and other stakeholders to take part in the process by submitting proposals that will help enhance the party’s constitutional arrangements.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to constitutionalism, internal democracy and the rule of law, adding that all activities leading up to the National Delegates Conference will be guided by its constitution and democratic principles.
