The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has opened a temporal Savannah Regional Secretariat at Damongo, the regional capital for the day-to-day administrative functions of the party.
The fully furnished Secretariat was commissioned at a short ceremony on Saturday (August 13, 2022) by the NPP Savannah Regional Chairman, Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu Kalamonia in the company of the Regional Secretary, Mohammed Issah among other party supporters.
The Regional Secretary in an interview with Journalists thanked the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, who double as the MP for Damongo, Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor and the Chief Executive Officer for Ghana Water Company Limited, Ing Clifford A. Braimah for their immense contribution to the party.
“Special appreciation to the wonder boy of our Region, a promising star of our time, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor, MP-Damango and Minister for lands and Natural Resources. Special mention also is our ever dedicated and trusted senior patriot, Ing. Dr. Clifford A. Braimah. These gallant servants of our party have been marvelously in touch from the conception of this project to birth” he stated.
The NPP in the 2020 polls performed creditably well winning three out of the seven Parliamentary seats from an initial one seat in the home region of the NDC Presidential Candidate.
As a result, the governing part is set out to overturn the single seat deficit to conquer the Savannah Region which was created in 2019 by the Akufo-Addo led NPP government.
In furtherance to this, Mr. Issah said a functional Secretariat was necessary in the preparation of the New Patriotic Party to achieve their target of breaking the 8 in the 2024 general elections.
