The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa East in the Central Region, Mr. Solomon Quarm, has stressed that most senior secondary schools in Ghana started actually started from small beginnings before becoming great.
He therefore stressed that any secondary school that is being started today, if well nurtured could also become very great in future.
Mr. Quarm stated these at the official opening of the Gomoa Nyanyanoman Senior High/ Technical school recently at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Gomoa East of the Central Region.
The Theme for the programme was “Nurturing future leaders today through Education.”
Mr. Quarm was grateful to volunteers from Netherlands who put up a 3-classroom block to kick start the SHS/Technical school at Gomoa Nyanyano.
He volunteered himself as a former tutor to teach frees of charge at the new school as his little contribution to support the progress of the school.
The DCE noted that the Gomoa East District Assembly would also contribute its widow’s mite at all times to support the teething school to grow.
The DCE also made a carrion appeal to all landlords in Nyanyano and its environs to voluntarily provide their buildings as hostels to accommodate the students of the new school free of charge.

She noted that for any community to develop, education must be pushed hard, and if that is done, the educated people would stand a better chance to get jobs to make a better living for themselves and their communities.
Mrs. De-Graft Johnson added that for a school to perform well academically, there is the need for quality inputs or resources that should be provided including computers, laboratories, teaching and learning materials, staff welfare, among others.
She has accordingly invited all to come on board to provide the needed facilities to the school to succeed.
