Alhaji Boniface Abubakar Saddique (M), MP for Madina addressing a news conference

The Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region has warned elements in the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to desist from peddling falsehood about developmental projects ongoing in the La-Nkwantang municipality.

Alhaji Boniface Abubakar Saddique gave the warning at a news conference held in Madina to kick start his accounting to the people campaign for the re-election of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to the MP, who is also the Minister of State at the Office Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NDC elements are going round the peri-urban areas telling the electorate that the projects ongoing in the Constituency were the handy works of the NDC when it was in government in 2016.

“This is palpable false as the funding for the projects in the Constituency were made available by the NPP’s administration.

‘The NPP as a party believes in ideas and not propaganda, to this end we encourage other aspirants to avoid the peddling of falsehood in their quest to secure votes”, he reiterated.

Alhaji Boniface cautioned NDC elements to desist from the peddling of lies and encouraging violence in the run-up to the December polls.

“We are by this means encouraging them to tell the people what they can and have done in the Constituency and why they should be voted for this time round”, he stressed.

According to him, party lines divide people and Madina needs unity not divisions, adding that for a few people on the other side of the political divide to think that politics is about peddling falsehood is unfortunate.

He said there has been an instance where the NDC parliamentary candidate was captured telling the electorate that the funding for the Akosombo road was made available by the NDC administration.

“In the 201 6elections, we saw that the Madina Constituency was lacking in terms of development despite the enormous opportunities and potentials in the area.

“We campaigned vigorously for the votes of the people to put the Madina Constituency in its rightful place and to bring peace and development and reshape the people’s ideologies of Madina

In the perfect will of Allah and with the support of the people ‘Mission Madina’ became successful”, he narrated.
