The Member of Parliament for Yendi, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, has once again distributed 1000bags of rice to support the Muslim community for the celebration of the 2022 Eid-ul Fitr.

The benevolence has become an annual ritual performed by the New Patriotic Party lawmaker to support his constituents during such religious occasions.

Eid-ul Fitr is a festival celebrated by Muslims annually to show gratitude towards Allah after the successful completion of the month of Ramadan.

Muslims come together during the period to fest with families, friends and love ones and exchange pleasantries with one another.

Ramadan is one of the pillars of the Islamic religion and Muslims are mandated to fast 29 or 30 days from dawn to dusk.

It is therefore significant to celebrate the end of a very intense month of prayer, charity, self-introspection and abstinence from all manner of social vices.

In view of the celebration, the donation would be made to Imams, Chiefs, Opinion leaders, women groups, youth and party faithful in the Yendi constituency.

The Yendi legislator stated the huge donation is in consonance with his desire to enable needy Muslims and their families undertake the big celebration with ease and joy, adding, the festival is considered as an indispensable spiritual event on the Islamic calendar.

Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama also urged the public to endeavor to share with other vulnerable and underprivileged in society in order everybody to celebrate with some excitement.  

He also implored the Muslim to seize the holy month to pray for continued peace and tranquility in the town and the nation as a whole.     

The MP has also vowed not to relent on his quest of pursuing government and development partners to bring the needed socioeconomic growth to the people under his Yendi project.

“I will continue to support my Muslim brothers and sisters every Ramadan and Eid. It is my bid to nurture, grow, sustain and maintain the popularity of the party in the Yendi Constituency, a seat the NPP has held favorably” he emphasized.
