The Member of Parliament for Yendi constituency in the northern region, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, has renovated the Kuni Primary School.

The old school block hitherto turned a death trap and not fit for purpose which greatly affected teaching and learning in the already deprived community.

However, both teachers and the pupils now have a conducive place to continue teaching and learning as a result of the timely intervention of the lawmaker.

Mr. Mahama in recent years has demonstrated his passion to improve the welfare of his constituents and has prioritize education as a major tool of development and success of every community.

Teachers Awards

The Yendi MP as part of measures to improve performance of teaching and learning organized a novel awards scheme to honour outstanding teachers for their exemplary performance and ground-breaking work that have affected and transformed the lives of learners.

It is also aimed at motivating teachers to go beyond the ordinary in their line of work as the MP throws the spotlight on great teachers and shares their remarkable stories, thereby inspiring and attracting many high-achieving candidate to join the profession.

Mr. Abukari Yakubu, Mohammed Yakubu Rafik received motorbikes and cash amounts of GHS500 while Akilu Taqiyatu received a plasma Television and a cash amount of GHS 1000.

Other awardees received cash prize of GHS1,000, Television, laptops, and certificate of honor.
