The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has expressed gratitude to Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaba Torkornoo for working frantically on getting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to approve the new salary structure.

According to a letter dated 13 July, 2023 and issued by the Chief Justice, President Akufo-Addo has approved the new salary reviews for judicial staff.

Implementation is set for end of July, according to the letter.

In a press release on Monday, July 17, JUSAG’s national executives thanked the Chief Justice for her commitment despite coming into office during the “difficult periods”.

“Though the process has been challenging, we are glad that her ingenuity and exceptional leadership with the support of other stakeholders led to the conclusion of the engagement on the 15th of June 2023 with an understanding that implementation of the reviewed salaries will take effect in July 2023.”

The press release later said: “The National Executive Council (NEC) of JUSAG wish to express our heartfelt  gratitude to our mother Chief Justice for the good start, and to immediate former Chief Justice, Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah for his efforts.”

The Association assured Justice Torkornoo that “we shall work with her and management to rebrand the Judicial Service and build upon the success chalked by the Judiciary ad the Judicial Service over the years”.
