Management of Liverpool Football Club have expressed ‘disappointment’ over the chaos that ensued during the UEFA Champions League finals over the weekend in Paris.

Reports indicated that thousands of Liverpool fans were stranded at the entrance of the stadium before kickoff. In some instances, police force was employed.

A statement from the club read:

“We are hugely disappointed at the stadium entry issues and breakdown of the security perimeter that Liverpool fans faced this evening at Stade de France,” the press service said.

“This is the greatest match in European football and supporters should not have to experience the scenes we have witnessed tonight. We have officially requested a formal investigation into the causes of these unacceptable issues,” the press service noted.

As part of this, the club has asked for their supporters who attend the event to share their experience on the night as part of evidence to present to UEFA.

“Liverpool FC is asking supporters who attended the Champions League Final in Paris to complete a feedback form in order to support any investigations into the operational management of the event.

The club officially requested a formal and transparent investigation into the issues supporters faced in and around Stade de France, before and after kick-off.

Another statement from the club to their supporters.

The form can be accessed online here and will also be sent via email directly to supporters who purchased a ticket for the game. LFC would like to thank all fans for taking the time to complete the form and their experience with us”.

The team lost in the said event over the weekend and had a resounding reception during their parade in city of Liverpool.
